About melissa

Melissa  spent over 20 years with the national accounting firm of BDO Seidman,  LLP.  During that 20 year span,  Melissa gained valuable experience with  the preparation of financial statements; preparation of income tax  returns for partnerships, tax-exempt organizations and individual  taxpayers; as well as payroll tax reporting.

Melissa has held the following professional positions:  Susan G. Komen for the Cure as Board member and Treasurer; InforumWest Michigan as Advisory Council Member, Finance Committee member, and Program Chair. Melissa received her Bachelor  of Science in Business Administration in 1992 and her Master of Science  of Taxation from Grand Valley State University in 2000. Melissa  completed the Certified Public Accountant Exam in 1995. 

Melissa is a  member of the following professional organizations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.  Melissa is a tribal member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians
